Nurturing Positive Connections: Fostering Healthy Relationships in November

Hello, amazing parents and students!

As November graces us with its presence, we embark on a journey dedicated to the art of fostering positive connections and relationships. This month, we'll explore the magic of building meaningful bonds that enrich our lives, from friendships that light up our days to family ties that provide unwavering support, and beyond. Join us as we delve into the heartwarming realm of nurturing healthy connections, enhancing our well-being and spreading positivity throughout our lives.

 Cold Lake Jr High has many opportunities for students to connect with each other and learn about healthy friendships. During the Lunch Hour there are different activities that happen throughout the week, which include:

  • Themed Wellness Activities in the Wellness Room (12:16-12:46)
  • Wellness Room Access for a quieter space and support (12:46-1:16)
  • Intramurals (the Gym)
  • Drama (12:16-12:46) on Days 1-4 (Ms. Alger’s Room)
  • CNN News (12:16-12:46) (Shop)
  • Rock Band (12:46-1:16) Day 1 (Mr.s Cluff’s Room)
  • Student Council (12:46-1:16) Day 2 (Ms. Geddes Room)
  • Robotics (12:46-1:16) Day 4 (Mr. Bouvier’s Room)
  • Music (12:46-1:16) Day 5 (Mrs. Earl’s Room)
  • Karaoke (12:46-1:16) Day 5 (Pit)

This month we have a few programs starting to support students and encourage positive relationships throughout the building. These include:

  • Breakfast Club on Mondays and Fridays at the Concession
  • Before School - Community Care with Ms. Parkin in the Home Ec Room (8:10-8:29)
  • Community Helpers for Grade 8’ and 9’s that are nominated

Parent Learning Series is starting in November for parents to attend. "Assessment Along the Learning Journey" will be held at Cold Lake Jr High on November 22, 2023.
